About

Who We Are

We’re a couple based in Japan, sharing practical travel tips and cultural insights from both local and European perspectives.

This blog is run by Eri, a Japanese local, and Mimi, who has a French–Italian background.
Living and traveling together in Japan has given us a unique way of seeing the country — familiar from the inside, yet constantly rediscovered through fresh eyes.

Our Background

Eri
Born and raised in Hokkaido, Japan, Eri has lived in Japan her entire life.
She moved to Fukuoka in 2023 and enjoys exploring everyday life, local customs, and regional differences across the country.

Mimi
Born in Grenoble, France, with French and Italian roots, Mimi has long been interested in Japan.
Through traveling, studying the language, and experiencing Japanese culture firsthand, he brings an outside perspective shaped by European values and curiosity.

Why We Write This Blog

We currently live together in Fukuoka, Japan, and love both domestic and international travel.
For us, travel isn’t just a hobby — it’s a way of life. It’s closely connected to how we live, eat, move, and interact with people every day.

As an international couple, we often notice small cultural differences, unspoken rules, and practical details that guidebooks don’t always explain.
Through this blog, we share those insights in a simple, practical way — especially for first-time visitors and people who want to understand Japan beyond the surface.
